A leading private care provider are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Nurse with an Interest in Critical Care / ITU, to join their busy nursing team. In this role you will be expected to work on the multi-disciplinary surgical ward as well as the ITU unit. You will also work closely with the ITU / Critical Care lead to develop the unit and train staff.
Our Client’s hospital is within an easily commutable distance to London. The Hospital consists of two outpatient areas, plus a Bupa Health Assessment centre. There are two ward areas with 29 single rooms, a two bedded emergency recovery unit with a sixteen bedded day care unit and five single rooms. There are three operating theatres - two with laminar flow.

Duties and Responsibilities
To deliver high standards of quality care by assessment at all times, evaluation and implementation of patient needs and guide others in this process. There will be occasions where you will need to accept delegated responsibilities from the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse as required. You will be expected to be part of the Hospital’s Clinical On-Call rota. You will also be expected to participate through mentorship in the orientation and development of junior staff. You will directly line manage a cohort of HCA’s delivering their appraisals and setting their objectives as per hospital policy. You will also need to work with the Critical Care Lead to improve nursing standards by providing support for competency assessments and practical training.
You must be a Registered Nurse, with a recognised post registration qualification in critical care. Evidence of continuous professional development, with a good understanding of NMC Code of Professional Conduct and re-validation. Good knowledge and experience in surgical nursing, with good communication skills. A mentorship qualification is not essential, however it desirable and will be unitilised.
