Our client on the south coast has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or a nurse who has an interest in the Cardiac Cath Lab. 

You will form part of a well-established, professional and friendly team providing high quality interventional & implant care to patients 

Job description

Staff will be expected to take the lead in support of the Cardiologist in a confident and professional manner; the successful applicants will provide exemplary planned care for patients and assistance to consultants within the Cath Lab environment.

Training will be provided to upskill, develop and further your knowledge within the Cath Lab.

Our client provides a wide range of services including day care and inpatient and outpatient services. The main activity is elective (planned) surgery, and more complex procedures such as cardiac and spinal surgery are supported by the onsite critical care facilities.

The hospital works in partnership with local NHS acute hospital trusts, for example in recent provision of robotic surgery, and there is a large refurbished outpatient department along with extensive diagnostic imaging services

Salary: £30000-£40000 per year

Full Time

Permanent contract

37.5 Hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The post holder will provide specialist clinical knowledge and skills in a broad range of cardiac procedures and radiology which is desirable and deliver expert care for patients undergoing diagnosis and treatment.
  • The post holder will need to be competent in clinical catheter laboratory nursing and will be expected to perform the role of scrub in this position.

  • NMC registration
  • Interest in working within a Cath Lab
  • Strong understanding and experience working in a Cath Lab (either in the NHS or Private) (desirable) 
  • Advanced Life support certificate (desirable)
  • Experienced in scrubbing and circulating (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of the below;
    • Intervention cardiology
    • EP studies
    • Device implantation
  • Cannulation and phlebotomy
  • IV medication administration
