Job overview Our Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation for people with a diagnosis of Psychosis or other complex enduring mental health difficulties.  The service is a 28 bedded rehabilitation hospital for both adult male and females. We believe in providing outstanding quality, safe and effective care and treatment that everyone can be proud of. We are a friendly and committed team looking for an inpatient clinical activity worker to join us to provide inclusive, fun and meaningful activities to our clients. This role would complement the Occupational Therapy service and provide additional activities available on the unit. This role involves working a mixture of 9.00-5.00 and 12.00 -20.00 shifts and includes some weekends.

Main duties of the job We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical in-patient Activities Support Worker post which is a new and exciting role within the hospital.  We hope this role will complement our existing team. Experience welcome working in mental health. This role involves working autonomously and independently facilitating groups, therefore the role requires someone with confidence and ability to use own initiative and some creative ability too. Training and supervision is provided.

The Hospital, a 28 bedded unit, based in East Sussex provides care to those individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Running one to one or group activities to provide social inclusion and leisure for our service users.  Applicants must have good interpersonal skills and a flexible approach to duty.  A commitment to supervision and the opportunity for staff development are key aspects of this service. Previous experience working in health care is desirable.

If you have experience working as a fitness instructor or Personal Trainer this would also be desirable but not essential. We are able to offer training to get a fitness instructor qualification to provide physical fitness support to service users.
