Emergency Room Nurse

Registered Nurse care for people who are sick, injured, convalescent, or disabled. Under general supervision are responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. The nature of the direction and supervision required for this position varies by State and job setting.
ER Nurses provide care to various types of illness or trauma requiring emergency attention and must be able to recognize and effectively treat life-threatening conditions.Position Responsibilities
ER Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. In addition to general nursing care duties include but are not limited to:

The ER RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Because patients need round the clock care, working hours include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The number of patients assigned per shift will vary with facility and specialty. Nurses will need to spend a considerable time walking, bending, stretching, and standing, assisting with patient transfers. Nurses must use proper body mechanics and procedure for lifting/moving patients while assisting CNA’s. Nurses may face hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases. Additionally, may treat patients that may be confused, irrational, agitate and / or uncooperative.Physical Demands
